Venture Into Textile Work

I am slowly getting settled in my new Philly home where I have set up a small studio. Since my collaboration for the L.A. Bridge Projects exhibition Otherwise /Revival, I have been working with incorporating textiles into my work along with found objects and other materials I have been using for some time. I started accessing a trove of textile and upholstery materials during the pandemic when I had limited access to my larger studio at Mana Contemporary when I was in Chicago. I am teaching myself skills that are easy to travel with such as quilting, embroidery and crocheting. I am excited about the possibilities of bringing these new techniques and materials into sculptural form.
